If I Erase You From My Memory, Will You Still Remain?
Approximately 300 letters addressed to 'You' from the artitst were writen and burnt to ash inside the containment of individual porcelain pinch pots. Like urns they stand as a reminder of absence in the prcence of an alien object. The work refers to a poem and performance made preiviously, writen by the artist herself, which talks of 'a thumbprint of You in a handmade pot'.
The work can be seen as a process of relaying greif of loss through methods of structure and reppetition. Like many of the artist's works, these pots are vast in their accumulation. Later this work inspired the film The 2 Metre Breaking Point seen below.
